TUNZE Nano Wavebox / TUNZE Wavebox
 |
In 2004, TUNZE® marketed the "Wavebox" as a world novelty - a patented wave generator for aquariums of 200 to 1,200 litres (52 to 317 USgal.). The current corresponds exactly to the wave structure and water movement in reef top zones. The Wavebox applies this oscillating principle through Wave Controller 6091, which uses the intrinsic resonance of the tank.
The Nano Wavebox uses the same principle, but has been designed for smaller aquariums from 150 to 600 litres (39 to 158 USgal.). The very compact dimensions permit discreet attachment in small or medium-sized aquariums. The integrated Magnet Holder permits an uncomplicated attachment at every point of the aquarium with a glass thickness of 19 mm (.74 in.).
It supplements existing circulation pumps. Power consumption in one cycle from 2 W to 18 W; about 10 W on average.
Delivery condition: Ready to fit with Nano Magnet Holder for attachment to vertical panes or an aquarium with glass tops, Wave Controller and photo-electric cell. |

TUNZE® Wavebox 6212 is a patented wave generator for aquariums
from 200 to 1.200 litres (52 to 317 US gal.). It is especially
suitable for reef biotopes as it generates an oscillating current.
The current corresponds exactly to the wave structure and water
movement in reef top zones. The Wavebox applies this oscillating
principle through Wave Controller 6091, which uses the intrinsic
resonance of the tank. With a minimal use of power it generates
tremendous water movement. The water is in movement in all areas
of the aquarium, even the smallest section behind a decoration
benefits from the wash. Example: On account of the wash of the
waves, the maximum water level may rise 2 cm (.78 in.) and more
in aquariums with a length of 1.5 metres (1,5m.) The wave height
can be adjusted electronically.
Supplements existing circulation pumps.
FOR LARGER TANKS, an additional Wavebox extension (without Wave
Controller) can be used to extend the system.
POWER CONSUMPTION in one cycle of 5W to 60W; about 30W on average.
DELIVERY CONDITION: Completely ready for mounting with holding
device for vertical panes, Wavecontroller and photo-electric cell.
For the attachment on aquariums with glass covers, we recommend
two magnetic holders 6080.50 or 6200.50.

Wavebox
(6212.000)
Dimensions: L125 x W113 x H 300mm (L4.9 x W4.4 x H11.8in.)
Immersion depth: approx. 280mm (11in.)
30W, 230V/50-60Hz (115V/50-60Hz) on average
For tanks from 200 to 1,200 litres (52 to 317USgal.)

The pump in the Wavebox presses the water to the left-hand side
of the tank causing all polyps in every position in the aquarium
to move to the left.
|
 |
The pump is stopped; the wavebox fills up; and
the entire water in the aquarium returns to the right-hand side.
All polyps move to the right. |

Wavebox extension
In case of aquariums with volumes of over 1,200 litres (317 US gal.),
a Wavebox Extension 6212.50 should be added to the existing Wavebox.
The Wavebox Extension contains the Wavebox 6212, however without Wavecontroller
6091. The combination of Wavebox and Wavebox Extension is suitable for
aquariums up to about 2,400 litres (abt. 634 US gal.). Each additional
extension (three maximum) increases the volume recommended by about
1,200 litres (abt. 317 US gal.). The Waveboxes can be placed next to
each other or opposite each other. A Wavebox Extension can be connected
without any other accessories. A Y adapter 7092.34 is required only
for two or three Wavebox extensions.

FAQs about the TUNZE® Wavebox
 |
Can the Wavebox be fitted in an aquarium with outlet ?
Given a single wave, the water varies only very little in the
centre of the aquarium (relative to the longitudinal axis).
If and when possible, this zone should be used for the outlet
and inlet. The more distance to this zone, the higher the difference
in water level. TUNZE® outlets can withstand such variations
without any problems, but they may cause noise.
|
 |
Can the Wavebox be integrated in
the decoration completely ?
For perfect wave formation and circular current, we recommend
positioning the water outlet in direction of the longitudinal
axis of the aquarium. The decoration, such as corals, should be
located at least 50 cm (19 in.) away from the water outlet.
|
 |
Can the Wavebox produce several waves ?
Given an aquarium of two metres (78 in.) in length, a double wave
can be produced. In order to get an indication for this frequency,
the resonance frequency of single wave has to be divided by two. |
 |
Is the Wavebox compatible with other Turbelle®
pumps ?
The Wavebox can also be integrated in an aquarium with Turbelle®
pumps. The circular current of the Turbelle® and the washing
of the waves produced by the Wavebox superimpose each other and
result in a strongly pulsating circular current for reef top biotopes,
for example. |
 |
Two Waveboxes are required for a tank with a
content of 1,700 litres (449 US gal.) Do the Waveboxes have to
be located next to each other in case of space problems ?
Two Waveboxes can be placed in opposite corners of the tank; in
this case they will operate alternatingly. When one Wavebox operates,
the other is switched off, et cetera; Wavecontroller 6091 is used
to control the system. |
